Wangcang County is located in the south side of Micang Mountain at the junction of Sichuan and Shaanxi, under the administration of Guangyuan. Wangcang is adjacent to Nanjiang County of Bazhong in the east, Chaotian District, Lizhou District and Zhaohua District in the west, Cangxi County in the south, and Nanzheng County and Ningqiang County of Shaanxi Province. Its geographical coordinates are 105°58′24″E to 106°46′2″E and 31°58′45″N to 32°42′24″N. The county expands for about 75km from the east to the west and about 81km from the south to the north. Wangcang covers an area of 2,975.864km2. It governs 17 towns (Donghe, Jiachuan, Baishui, Shangwu, Zhanghua, Mumen, Huangyang, Puji, Sanjiang, Jinxi, Wuquan, Gaoyang, Shuanghui, Yingcui, Guohua, Longfeng and Jiulong), 18 townships (Dahe, Wanjia, Liuxi, Nongjian, Hualong, Daliang, Yanzi, Shuimo, Gucheng, Wanshan, Zhengyuan, Tianxing, Mengzi, Fuqing, Zaolin, Maying, Yanhe and Dade) and 3 sub-districts (Jinglesi, Chenjialing and Moyan). It also governs 352 villager committees, 9 neighborhood committees, 435 villager groups, and 30 resident groups, with a total population of 530,000. Wangcang County People's Government is located in Donghe Town.
