Residential dwellings include tile-roofed houses, earth wall houses, thatched cottages, and wooden houses and shanties of simple structures, etc. The houses are of stone foundations, earth, wood or brick walls, and roofs of tile, grass or stone sheet. The houses are divided into the earth-wood structure and the brick-wood structure. Since the reform and opening-up, rural villa-style buildings are increasing.

As for folk songs of Wangcang, some new folk songs are gradually increasing with the further development of reform and opening-up, development and communication of economy and culture as well as the growing influence of film and television media. The forms of folk songs are rich and varied. For example: Treat mountains first for poverty elimination, plant trees first for wealth. It is better to leave green mountains to the after generations rather than gold. A sesame stalk puts forth blossoms notch by notch; we change our life through the reform and opening-up; development is the fundamental principle, and a cat catching mouse is a good cat.
